Planet earth is an amazing TV series that depicts the beautiful places on the earth and seasonal changes that take place in various forests, deserts, oceans, etc. It was co-produced by Discovery channel and the Japan broadcasting corporation in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. This show was heavily trailed on BBC. It showed the effect of global climatic change and seasonal transitions in the poles, along with wild life and their survival tactics. It also depicted the life of plans and animals in mountains, fresh water, caves, deserts, plains, jungles and seasonal forests. This TV series give a incredible amount of knowledge to the common man by keeping him captivated for hours together. this is a very effective way of learning about plants life, animals, birds and their migration.


Blue planet is a BBC nature documentary on the world's oceans narrated by David Attenborough. the series was produced in conjunction with Discovery Channel. The large part of the life under the ocean has remained a mystery and this series sheds a lot of light on sea life. They concentrate on a different type of water life in every episode. They have covered the open seas, seasonal seas, tidal seas, coasts, coral seas, frozen seas and the deep ocean. They show us observations on the migration of fish with the change in environmental conditions, the different kinds of creatures living under different conditions, feeding habits, etc. Both these series are very popular and are available as both DVDs and books and make very good material for a library or home for learning about science, geography and nature.
